Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that along with the price hike for medications the list of pharmaceuticals, which are sold with discounts in case a medical insurance is available has been reduced.
Actovegin and Cerebrolysin solutions for injections were recently excluded from the list.
According to those who contacted medical establishments for prescriptions, medical doctors prefer to prescribe Analgin, Diclofenac, Enalapril, Riboxinum and cheaper medications. As well as local medications, which, as viewed by healthcare practitioners, are not very efficient.
Moreover, apart from a prescription people holding a disability status of group I are required to present a document, which proves their disability status.
Without a prescription the state-run pharmacies sell medications at the same price as privately-owned ones.
In the past four months the price increase for the following medications has been recorded in privately-owned pharmacies:
Cardiomagnyl (100 pills by 150 mg) from 97 manats to 123 manats;
Levocarnitine (5 ampules) from 105 manats to 142 manats;
Cocarnit (3 ampules) from 85 manats to148 manats;
Panangin (5 ampules) from 48 manats to 65 manats;
Actovegin (10 ampules) from 132 manats to 239 manats;
Mildronate (40 capsules) from 68 manats to 94 manats
Let us recall that in November 2017 the cost for medical insurance rose by 50% from 2% to 3% from a salary. At the same time, the list of medications which can be purchased at reduced prices in case a medical insurance is available, has been reduced by over three times.
