Ten non-members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, which do not participate in cutting oil output, including Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Egypt, will attend the meeting of OPEC+ in Vienna on November 30 to discuss increasing the number of the deal’s participants, TASS reports.
“Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and some African countries Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal will take part.Egypt, Uganda and Bolivia have also confirmed participation”, an informed source said.
The second source also mentioned the same countries.Bolivia’s representatives earlier announced plans to visit Vienna. The sources noted that the participation in the meeting does not mean joining the deal automatically.
The ministers will participate in negotiations aimed at increasing the number of the agreement participants.
Let us recall that on 25 May the Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih held meetings with representatives of Norway, Egypt and Turkmenistan and based on the results of the meeting he expressed confidence that the sides would join the OPEC.
However, on 1 June during the forum of the International Energy Charter held in Ashgabat an official of Turkmenistan oil and gas sector said that “The oil output cut agreement is not envisaged and we plan to pump the planned volumes”.
