The credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Sarah Mary Walsh were accepted today by the Chairman of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the information program “Watan” of Turkmen television reported.
On behalf of the head of Turkmenistan, the head of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post, wishing him success in strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the ambassador was informed about the main directions of the state policy of Turkmenistan, one of the priority vectors of which is the development of equal, fruitful interaction with all interested foreign partners.
The diplomat was also familiarized with the structure of the Mejlis and the activities it carries out to ensure the legislative and legal framework for reforms implemented in various areas. In this context, it was noted that the stimulation of inter-parliamentary relations will serve to enrich the content of traditional bilateral relations.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of New Zealand assured that, for her part, she would do everything possible to promote the further progressive development of interstate dialogue that meets the interests of two friendly countries and peoples.
