The “Turkmenhowayollary” Agency increased the growth rate in the provision of services in the first quarter of 2024 - it amounted to 164,7% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyev, during a government meeting.
In general, in the transport and communications complex, the growth rate of work performed and services provided in January-March reached 118,1%. At the same time, in the field of cargo transportation the growth was 105,4%, and in passenger transportation 101,7%.
A significant increase was also demonstrated by the agencies “Turkmendenzizederyayollary” (121,4%) and “Turkmenawtoulaglary” (110,2%).
The meeting also discussed systematic work on the development of the digital economy within the framework of the relevant Concept for 2019-2025. Construction of new production and social facilities of the transport and communications complex is underway in all regions of the country.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the need to continue effective activities to increase freight and passenger transportation by all types of transport. It was also instructed to fully utilize the international transit potential of Turkmenistan.
