Turkmenbashi-Alyat Container Traffic Sees Threefold Increase

The total number of containers transported between the international seaport of Turkmenbashi in Turkmenistan and the Azerbaijani port of Alyat for the period of January-June increased almost three times, the press service of the commercial marine fleet of Turkmenistan reports.

During the corresponding period, 2,362 TEUs were transported, which is 2.9 times more compared to the same period in 2022.

Of the total volume of cargo transportation, Turkmen imports accounted for 25 percent of cargo, exports - 34 percent, and transit - 41 percent.

The total volume of cargo transportation by vessels of the Merchant Marine Fleet for the period of JanuaryJune this year increased by 31.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 1,150.50 thousand tons.
