The weightlifting team of Turkmenistan arrived in Grodno to participate in the II Games of the CIS countries. One of the first athletes to share her positive emotions from her arrival in Belarus was Kristina Shermetova, BelTA informs.
“We flew from Ashgabat. The road was not long, because there is a direct flight from Turkmenbashy to Minsk. Before coming to Belarus, we trained in Kazakhstan,” she said.
Kristina Shermetova said that the composition of the national team of Turkmenistan is very strong.
“These are five athletes from the men's team and three from the female team. There are among them world champions, world medalists, and even participants in the Olympic Games. We know our rivals,” said the weightlifter.
Now athletes from Turkmenistan have the opportunity to adapt, conduct the first training, relax and get to know Grodno.
It is expected that the II Games of the CIS countries will bring together over 6 thousand people, including 4 thousand athletes, 900 coaches and 800 judges. Their distinctive feature will be that the competitions will be held in 11 cities of Belarus.
