Turkmen Universities Expand Their Offerings With 35 New Specialties

Following the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to define new, modern professional directions in higher and secondary professional educational institutions of the country, 35 new specialties have been introduced in ten higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan in 2023-2024 academic year, the official Turkmen media reported on Monday.

21 new specialties were added into bachelor programs, 8 in college and 6 in master's programs.

According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, this academic year the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seidi will start training students in the bachelor program in the field of social work and in the master's program in psychology and pedagogy.

The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute will admit students on the basis of a bachelor's program in information security, civil defense planning in architecture and construction, civil defense in road construction, and civil defense in the chemical industry and its application.

This year, the bachelor’s system of Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management includes 6 majors, such as accounting, analysis and audit, finance, economics and organization of production, master's programs in business informatics, financial management, and business management.

Applicants can apply to the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications for the newly opened bachelor's degree program in railway electricity supply, locomotives, wagons, real estate specialization and management, land transport technology, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity, air traffic management, aircraft flight organization, and management.

The Turkmen State Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov will accept students for a bachelor's degree program in information security management in agriculture, and the Turkmen State Agricultural Institute will accept students for a bachelor's degree program in agricultural products processing technology.

In addition, a master's program in international economics was opened at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and a master's program in entrepreneurship and finance was opened at the State Institute of Finance of Turkmenistan.

The Aba Annayev International Equestrian Academy in Arkadag city opened 9 new departments based on two specialized and seven undergraduate programs.
