Turkmen, Turkish Foreign Ministers Discuss Upcoming OTS Summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in telephone conversation on Tuesday discussed preparations for the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The organization is to hold an extraordinary summit in Türkiye’s capital Ankara on March 16, the Turkish Daily Sabah newspaper reports.

The OTS is an interstate bloc, established with the aim of expanding cooperation between Turkish-speaking countries in the fields of politics, economics, science, education, transport, and tourism.

The members of the organization are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. Hungary,Turkmenistan and Northern Cyprus have observer status in the organization.
