Turkmen tennis players win first victories at Ashgabat Open 2024 tournament

Turkmen tennis players have successfully started their performance at the international tournament Ashgabat Open 2024, which started in the capital of Turkmenistan. On the first day of play, athletes from Turkmenistan showed excellent results, reaching the second round of the competition.

The tournament is being held in the Tennis Complex of the Olympic Village and has brought together 63 athletes under 14 years old from 12 countries, including Great Britain, India, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, UAE, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is represented by 20 boys and 22 girls.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, in the men's singles, Emirkhan Rustamov, Yasin Faizullaev, Ilyas Mammetgulyev, Ali Geldyev, Erkin Altyev, Kerimgeldi Velibegov, Alyryza Meredov, Yunus Annamyradov, Eyupbeg Atajanov, Suleiman Khudayberdiev and Muhammetsapa Serdarov advanced to the second round.

Among the girls, Leili Esenova, Ksenia Sorokina, Safiya Tribunskaya, Selbi Altyeva, Sahra Garakhanova, Sulgun Ishankulieva, Imilia Kambarova, Anna Ponyatova, Ainur Atajanova, Ilima Huseynova, Ailara Kakabaeva, Ainur Annamyradova and Nazli Khudaykulieva advanced to the second round.
