Sabrina Rahmanova, a young tennis player from Turkmenistan, began her performance in the prestigious junior qualifying tournament Roland Garros Junior Series by Renault Qualifications West and Central Asia, which started on August 5 at the Gorky Tennis Park tennis center in Almaty. Rahmanova received a unique opportunity to represent her country thanks to a Wild Card from the organizers.

The tournament, organized by the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation with the support of the French Tennis Federation and the Asian Tennis Federation, brought together the strongest tennis players under 17 years old from the countries of Central and Western Asia. The winner will receive a ticket to the junior Roland Garros qualifying tournament in Tokyo.

Athletes from seven countries take part in the competition: Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Jordan and Lebanon. Rahmanova, a student of the head coach of the Turkmenistan national team Mirali Hasanova, was in group “A”, where her rivals were Kazakhs Sofia Isakova and Evelina Balaganskaya, as well as Emily Kim from Uzbekistan.

At the moment, the Turkmen tennis player has held two meetings, losing to Sofia Isakova (2:6, 0:6) and Evelina Balaganskaya (2:6, 5:7). Sabrina has a decisive match ahead of her against Emily Kim, which will be held on August 7.

The tournament will last until August 9 and will determine which of the region's young talents will get the chance to continue competing for participation in the prestigious junior Grand Slam tournament.
