Turkmen students are going to be taught the Hungarian language

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban highly appreciated the proposals of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to study the Hungarian language in one of the higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan. The head of the Hungarian government announced this on Friday, speaking on the results of the Turkmen-Hungarian high-level talks held in Ashgabat, the state news agency TDH reports.

“Having touched upon the topic of cooperation in the humanitarian field, Prime Minister Viktor Orban noted that his country is sincerely glad that Turkmen students study in Hungarian universities.

Confirming Hungary's desire to continue effective cooperation in this area, the head of the Government of the friendly state highly appreciated the proposals of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to study the Hungarian language in one of the higher educational institutions of our country and to hold cross Days of Culture,” the report says.

Earlier it was reported that following the talks between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, the parties signed eight documents on cooperation in various fields, including a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum program for 2024-2026 between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affairs and trade of Hungary.

We also note that the leading Turkmen university in the field of linguistics is the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi. To date, students have the opportunity to study 14 languages at TNIMA, including: Turkmen, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indian.
