Turkmen State Glass Producer Expands Exports to Ukraine

Türkmenaýnaönümleri, the state producer of glass products in Turkmenistan, has shipped its sheet glass to Ukraine for the first time. The company’s traditional export markets are Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.

More than 700 thousand square meters (sqm) of sheet glass were exported from Turkmenistan in the first nine months of 2021, which is significantly more than in the entire last year, the country’s official media reports.

The state enterprise has the annual production capacity of one million sqm of sheet glass, 100 thousand sqm of laminated glass, 400 thousand sqm double-glazed windows and a wide range of glass containers 15 types of various containers for the food and medical industries.

The enterprise, located in Ovadandepe of Ahal velayat’s Gokdepe etrap, is equipped with an automated conveyor line of the German company HORN Glass Industries AG, as well as specialized equipment from European companies Clastone, Buhler, Zippe, Lises, Cnud and Bottero.

The plant also has lines for the production of single-chamber and double-chamber glass units used for glazing window frames and facades, a lamination process using polyvinyl butyl film to create safe display glass and other purposes.

Commissioned in February 2018, Türkmenaýnaönümleri is owned by the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan. In the first six months of this year, the enterprise produced products worth nearly 90 million manats, increasing production by 141.2% compared to the same period last year.
