Turkmen sambo wrestlers won 6 medals at the World Championships in Kazakhstan

Six medals - 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze - were won by Turkmen sambo wrestlers at the World Championships held in Astana (Kazakhstan), the Orient website reports.

Mumindzhan Arzikulov won gold in combat sambo in the up to 71 kg weight category.Silver awards went to Bagul Nuryeva (combat sambo, up to 50 kg) and Sabina Agadzhanova (combat sambo, over 80 kg).

Bronze medalists were Kambar Umarov (sports sambo, up to 71 kg), Zarina Abdurahmanova (combat sambo, up to 54 kg) and Gulzada Jorakuliyeva (combat sambo, up to 72 kg).

The competition brought together more than 470 athletes from 80 countries. This year, new disciplines were included in the championship program for the first time - women's combat sambo and competitions among blind athletes.
