The seminar on agrotechnics of growing various apple varieties organized in the framework of the European Union project "Promoting further sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas in Turkmenistan - Phase III (SARD III)" was conducted in Turkmenabat, in the region branch of the Union of Industrial and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, which implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Industrial and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The seminar was conducted by agronomist-entomologist from Turkey Mustafa Alkan, who shared with the leaders and specialists of horticultural enterprises the experience of growing various varieties of apples, information on optimal irrigation regimes, application of fertilizers and measures to combat diseases and pests. The exchange of views covered a wide range of issues of effective management.
Mustafa Alkan visited apple farms "Yunus Dayhan" and "Altyn gul" in order to provide advice on the issues of agricultural technology of cultivation of dwarf varieties of apples during his stay in Lebap region.
The advice of the EU expert will allow Turkmen fruit producers to improve agronomic skills and increase production of vitamin products in the context of implementing the state program on import substitution.
