Turkmen Producer Eyes Exports of Basalt Fiber

The Turkmen company Döwlet Gurluşyk aims to export its basalt fiber used in construction works, the country’s Rysgal newspaper reported on Monday.

The products are produced by melting basalt rock in a rock-melting furnace. Basalt fiber is used in construction to insulate walls and roofs of houses. It has cold/heat and sound insulation properties. High quality of the product, price availability and its practicality ensure high demand of the product in the domestic market, according to the newspaper.

The enterprise's workshops, equipped with modern Russian machinery, are designed for producing 15 thousand square meters of goods a month. The fiber is produced in the form of coils 1x5 meters. The enterprise employing 15-20 specialists uses only local raw materials.

Döwlet Gurluşyk company, based in Ak Bugday district of Ahal velayat, launched the production of basalt fiber in 2017.
