Turkmen Producer Exports 200 Tons of Tomatoes to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan

The Turkmen agriculture producer Ýigit recently exported 200 tons of its Mahmal branded tomatoes to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the local Rysgal newspaper reported on Monday.

The exported tomatoes were of the Marvelans variety, grown at the company’s 34-hectare greenhouse complex in Kaka etrap of Ahal velayat.

In addition to Marvelans, the company presently grows Altes, Merlis and other varieties of tomatoes. The agricultural grower also tests 11 more varieties of tomatoes in a separate block of its greenhouse complex.

The greenhouse complex is equipped with modern machinery from such foreign companies as Siemens and Grundfos. This allows to maintain all parameters necessary for optimal growth of plants and seedlings in the greenhouse humidity and temperature conditions. The complex also has artificial lighting and ventilation systems.

The greenhouse complex was commissioned in February 2019 and currently employs around 500 people.

Member businesses of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country (UIET) presently operate more than 100 greenhouses with a total area of 450 hectares in the country.
