Turkmen President Visits Lebap Province

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his visit to the country’s eastern province of Lebap inspected the progress of implementation of the State Program of Socio-Economic Development of regions, the pace of grain harvesting and the situation in the industrial complex.

The Turkmen President first went to the Watan farmers’ association in Charjev district and met the farmer Azat Jorayev. The Head of State inquired about his family, types of crops he grows, productivity of cultivated grain fields, as well as the timely settlement of payments for the harvests, the official Turkmen media reports.

The Turkmen President also held an expanded off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers at the conference hall of Turkmenabat International Airport.

Addressing Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Government in charge of the construction, industrial and energy issues, President Berdimuhamedov instructed to take measures to increase the production of electricity, non-ore construction materials and other goods of the construction industry and mineral fertilizers.

Addressing Annageldy Yazmyradov, the Deputy Chairman of the Government in charge of the agro-industrial complex, the Turkmen President said, "In order to improve the supply of local vegetables, fruits and berries, potatoes, beef and poultry, eggs, vegetable oil and other food products, as well as to create a fodder base, targeted work in the regions should be carried out step by step."

During the visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also took part in the opening ceremony of the Gadyn gas gathering station located in Farap district of Lebap province.
