The Akhal teke horse owned by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov managed to cover the distance of 10 meters in 4.19 seconds on back legs. This was the cause for listing this achievement in the Guinness World Records.
The state information agency TDH reports that this is twice as fast as the previous record set by the same horse in 2016.
The news outlet does not specify whether there were other contenders.
The achievement was recorded by a representative of Guinness World Records Sheida Subashi-Gemigi, who documented another record a month ago— on 1 June 2018 the cycling training proclaimed the largest cycling awareness-raising event in the world was held at “Ashgabat” stadium.
The campaign brought together some 3236 participants.
Other Turkmenistan’s accomplishments were listed in the Guinness World Records: a giant horse head above the Olympic stadium, the Centre of Water Sports built in the Olympic village the largest yurt in the world, the television broadcasting station with the biggest star in the world, the new airport featuring the largest Turkmen ornament in the world, the largest observation wheel in the world and some others.
