Turkmen President Meets Russian Deputy Prime Minister in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Russian side, in Ashgabat on Monday, the official Turkmen media reports.

Overchuk conveyed to the Head of Turkmenistan cordial greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who expressed their best wishes of prosperity and well-being to all the people of Turkmenistan.

Alexei Overchuk also expressed deep gratitude to Turkmenistan for the humanitarian aid provided to the Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation, which suffered from a natural disaster.

The Turkmen President stressed that the current visit of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister to Ashgabat and the planned negotiations would contribute to maintaining permanent contacts at the level of the governments of the two countries and promoting effective Turkmen-Russian cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the priority matters of bilateral cooperation based on the principles of deep strategic partnership and gradually developing in all its aspects.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation Alexey Overchuk expressed confidence in further successful development of the bilateral partnership meeting common long-term interests.
