Turkmen President Meets Newly Appointed Ambassadors of Iran and Japan

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan, Hiroshi Sasaki, in Ashgabat on Monday. The ambassadors presented their credentials to the head of state, the official Turkmen media reports.

Meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani:

After presenting his credentials, the Iranian diplomat conveyed greetings from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Ebrahim, to the Head of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Нalk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and expressed his wishes of health, happiness and prosperity to the Turkmen people.

During the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Iranian representative discussed important aspects of bilateral relations. Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen ties in energy, transport, construction and agriculture, focusing on the Turkmen-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

At the end of the meeting the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the diplomat expressed confidence in the further progressive development of the traditional bilateral cooperation, which has gained new dynamics and fulfilment in recent years.

Meeting with Hiroshi Sasaki, Ambassador of Japan to Turkmenistan:

The Ambassador conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan greetings from the Emperor of Japan and the Prime Minister, as well as gratitude on behalf of the Emperor of Japan for his contribution to the progressive expansion of Turkmen-Japanese relations. In addition, the diplomat emphasised the importance of cooperation with Central Asia and interest in further development of relations.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in turn, emphasised the importance of economic cooperation based on the latest achievements of science and technology, including innovations, new technologies, and best practices. He also noted the successful development of effective business relations between Turkmenistan and leading Japanese companies.

During the conversation, both parties discussed a wide range of matters aimed at deepening the productive exchange of views in politics and diplomacy, trade and economy, as well as culture and humanitarian aspects. The discussions took into careful consideration the national interests of both countries involved.
