Turkmen President Inspects Construction at New Medical Facility in Balkan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Saturday in the country’ coastal city of Turkmenbashi in Balkan velayat got acquainted with the construction works at the multidisciplinary hospital with 400 beds that had entered the final stage, and held a working meeting at the site.

The Head of State arrived in the western region of the country at the request of the Vice-Premier Sapardurdy Toyliyev and Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, the country’s official media reports.

Upon arrival at the construction site of the seven-story multidisciplinary hospital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented with the drawings depicting the entire structure of the medical complex, which includes many highly specialized departments.

The hospital will house an admission department, an ambulance department, physiotherapy, dentistry, hemodialysis and chemotherapy rooms.

The new healthcare facility will also have departments of pediatrics, gynecology, neurotraumatology, surgery, urology, oncology, cardiology and endocrinology, as well as a maternity ward and a conference hall. The new medical complex will be installed with advanced equipment in accordance with high international standards, according to the report.

The separate two-storey building housing a centralized laboratory, departments of functional and radiation diagnostics, and a blood bank will also be included in the structure of the hospital.

The Head of State them held a working meeting with the participation of numerous vice-premiers, the head of the Transport and Communications Agency, the Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry.

Last week, two medical facilities opened in Balkan velayat - the infectious disease hospital and a medical clinic.
