Turkmen President, Gazprom Head Talk Energy Cooperation in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of the Russian energy giant Gazprom Alexei Miller in a meeting in Ashgabat on Monday discussed energy cooperation, the Russian company said in its press release.

Alexei Miller also held a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, according to the statement.

Both meetings were held as part of the working visit of the delegation of Gazprom to Turkmenistan. Gazprom representative office has been working in the country since 2003.

In late June, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced the intention of the management of Gazprom to visit Turkmenistan. The Russian Leader stated that Moscow and Ashgabat have agreements on the continuation of some contracts.
