Turkmen President Expresses Condolences Over Death of Zhirinovsky

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in a letter sent to the Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences over the death of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.

He was an outstanding politician and statesman whose long and distinguished political career made a great contribution to the development of Turkmen-Russian relations and strengthening of centuries-old ties of good neighborliness and friendship between the two countries, the Head of Turkmenistan said in his message.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also expressed his condolences and support to the family and friends of Zhirinovsky on behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and himself.

By a Presidential decree of Turkmenistan in 2017, Vladimir Zhirinovsky was awarded the title of "Honorary Elder of the People" of Turkmenistan.
