President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth on Friday took part in the foundation laying ceremony of a new building complex of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, the country’s official media reports.
The event gathered leaders and representatives of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, the Government, diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, public organizations, honorary elders and students.
According to the Decree signed by the President of Turkmenistan on August 25 this year, the construction of the building complex along Gorogly Street of Ashgabat with modern equipment and landscaping of the adjacent territory was entrusted to the private company Ajaýyp Gurluşyk.
The same day, foundation laying ceremony was also held for the new building complex of the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi for 5,000 students in the city of Turkmenabat in Lebap province.
In the city of Mary of Mary province, foundations were laid for a new additional educational building for 2,000 students on the adjacent territory of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, a hostel for 800 students, an indoor sports facility and a monument on a circular road.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday congratulated its participants, as well as education workers and young Turkmens on the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth and the beginning of the new academic year.
The Head of State stressed that on the occasion of September 1, the inauguration of modern educational institutions, kindergartens and laying of new buildings of a number of educational institutions will be organized in the country.
