Turkmen President Arrives in Azerbaijan on Working Visit

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Azerbaijan on Thursday on a working visit, the official Turkmen media reports.

The Head of Turkmenistan was welcomed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Prime Minister of Yaqub Eyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and other government officials, according to Trend news agency.

As part of the visit, President Berdimuhamedov will attend the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in the format of the Contact Group on COVID-19.

The meeting, which will be chaired by the Azerbaijani side, is expected to discuss topical issues of partnership development and expansion of cooperation in overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Turkmen President will also meet the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to discuss the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries.
