Turkmen President Addresses Instructions Regarding Creation of New Jobs

The Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the cabinet meeting on Friday instructed the Deputy Chairman of Government in charge of economic and financial issues Muhammetguly Muhammedov and the heads of his subordinate agencies to carry out a detailed analysis of the expected results of socio-economic development in Turkmenistan in the current year by taking into account the current situation in the world economic relations system.

At the same time, the Head of State gave instructions to expand the program of lending to small and medium-size enterprises and to analyze the program of creation of new jobs, particularly in provinces.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov indicated control over the financing of construction and the search for additional financial sources to implement the adopted programs as topical areas of activity.

Addressing Chary Gylyjov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government overseeing the country’s trade and textile complex, the Head of State said the activities of the member-enterprises of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan should also be kept under control and instructed to continue supporting small, medium and large private businesses.

These measures should be primarily aimed at preserving existing jobs and creating new ones by encouraging the activity of entrepreneurs and citizens, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

The government meeting summed up the results of development of the national economy in the first quarter of this year, featured reports of the deputy chairmen of the cabinet and regional governors and assessed their activities and defined the priorities of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for the coming period.
