Turkmen participants won silver and bronze at the Chemistry Olympiad in Riyadh

Turkmen participants successfully performed at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) from July 21 to 30. This was reported by the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

Turkmenistan was represented by four students from the specialized boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashy in Ashgabat. They have two silver and two bronze medals to their credit.

Silver medals were awarded to 11th grade student Aygul Atajanova and tenth grader Rustem Jumayev, and bronze medals were won by 11th grade student Jeren Akmyradova and 10th grade student Diyar Dovletov.

On the trip to Saudi Arabia, the young chemists were accompanied by their mentors, teachers of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University Nurjahan Malikgulyeva (Department of Physical Chemistry) and Yagmyr Tulekov (Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry).

This year, 333 schoolchildren from 90 countries took part in the International Chemistry Olympiad for Schoolchildren and 35 gold, 70 silver and 110 bronze medals were awarded, the source notes.
