Turkmen National Leader Attends Funeral Ceremony Honoring Iranian President

The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran and attended the funeral ceremony honoring President Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, who lost their lives in a helicopter crash on Sunday, as reported by Turkmenistan's news program Watan Habarlary.

According to the Mehr news agency, more than 40 high-ranking foreign delegations participated in the funeral ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom of the Iranian President and Foreign Minister in Tehran.

The delegations include the presidents of Tunisia and Tajikistan, the prime ministers of Iraq, Pakistan, Armenia, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and the heads of parliaments of Iraq, Russia, Algeria, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Lebanon.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran died in a helicopter crash on May 19 in the East Azerbaijan province of Iran.The crashed helicopter also carried Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan province Governor Malek Rahmati, and Mehdi Musavi, the head of Raisi's security team.

They were accompanied by Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Supreme Leader in the province.

The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, also visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat on Tuesday to express condolences to the representatives of the neighboring country.
