The State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryev held the II International Internet Olympiad dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality.
The intellectual competition was held from December 5 to 7 with the aim of implementing state programs and concepts aimed at improving the teaching of natural science subjects in Turkmenistan and including Turkmen universities in the list of leading international higher education institutions.
Along with students from Turkmenistan, students from 26 countries took part in the online Olympiad, including Russia, USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, UAE, India, Iran, Türkiye, China, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia and a number of CIS countries. A total of 550 students from 96 higher education institutions were represented.
79 students were declared winners of the Olympiad. 18 of them won gold medals, 27 silver, 34 bronze. They were awarded diplomas of I, II and III degrees.
According to international standards, the jury of the Olympiad, along with the teaching staff of Turkmen universities, also included representatives of the Astrakhan State Medical University of Russia, with which the Turkmen medical university cooperates on the basis of previously signed agreements and memorandums.
