President of Turkmenistan has given Agzachar Sadaqah (at his own expense - from his author’s remunerations for his books) at the Gurbanguly Hajji Mosque in the city of Mary on the occasion of Gadyr Gijesi.
Among those attending the event were the Mufti of Turkmenistan, imams of velayats and the city of Ashgabat, honorary elders, and residents of the region.
The Gurbanguly Hajji Mosque is known to have been completely renovated thanks to the care and patronage of the President of Turkmenistan. The exterior and interiors of this imposing building were designed and decorated to very high standards.
A perfect blend of national traditions and the best modern architectural solutions added unique charm to the building, which amazes with its majestic grandeur. The well-maintained area adjacent to the Mosque and a modern exterior lighting system make it truly magnificent not only in the daytime but also at night.
To mark the occasion and Agzachar Sadaqah, given by the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the teperrik (holy relic) was put on display at the Gurbanguly Hajji Mosque. The President had received it as a gift in 2016 during the Hajj to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Sadaqah ceremony attendees kneeled down in front of the holy teperrik to offer prayers. After that, they were invited to eat traditional Turkmen dishes prepared in honor of Gadyr Gijesi.
Then, the Mufti of Turkmenistan said the tebyarek prayer (prayer for the departed) and ayat prayers to the Almighty for peace and national unity on Turkmen soil, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s health and wellbeing, success in his activities, and the acceptance of Sadaqah offered by him.
