Turkmen Kaolin Plant Undergoes Final Stage of Overhaul

The reconstruction and overhaul of the kaolin plant of the Türkmen Kaolin OJSC located in the village of Jebel in Balkan province is currently at its final stage, Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government in charge of the construction, industrial and energy issues, announced during the online cabinet meeting hosted by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday.

According to the Vice-Premier, the kaolin plant will be equipped with modern equipment and technologies from leading foreign manufacturers. More than 70 new jobs will be created plant’s overhaul, the country’s official media reports.

“Kaolin is widely used in a number of industries operating in Turkmenistan, in particular, in the production of ceramic products, sanitary ware, dishes and other products. The products manufactured in the plant are planned to be sold on the domestic market and exported,” Purchekov said.

Following the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated the importance of continuing work on the formation of a powerful industrial complex in the country, a diversified construction industry, and the modernization of the core infrastructure in order to successfully address issues of increasing the volume of domestically produced import-substituting and export-oriented products, addressing the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers with a number of specific assignments.

The government meeting considered a number of topical issues, and adopted documents aimed at developing industries.
