14 Turkmen judokas will participate in the international “Grand Slam” tournament, which will be held in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) from June 24 to 26, informs IJF.
“Grand Slam” competitions are the fourth largest after the Olympic Games, World Championships and “Masters” tournaments and the first among the competitions that hold more than once a year.
The men’s team of Turkmenistan includes: Aybek Omirov, Hakberdy Jumayev (weight category up to 60 kg), Serdar Rahimov, Hekim Agamammedov (up to 60 kg), Ilham Kemalov, Isa Gaydarov (up to 73 kg), Mammedali Achyldyyev, Dayanch Omirov (up to 81 kg).
The women’s team will be represented by: Aksoltan Hojageldyeva, Raykhon Shavkadova (up to 48 kg), Leyla Umidova, Sayara Roziyeva (up to 52 kg), Gozel Novruzova (up to 52 kg), Zulhumar Dashikovna (up to 63 kg). 193 athletes are expected to participate in the tournament, including 122 men and 71 women from 25 countries.
Other stages of the “Grand Slam” tournament will be held in Budapest, Zagreb, Abu Dhabi, Baku and Tokyo.
