Turkmen, German Diplomats Exchange Views on Regional Security and Stability

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev on Wednesday held a telephone conversation with the Special Representative of Germany for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Markus Potzel.

According to Turkmen Foreign Ministry’s press release, the diplomats discussed the development of cooperation in the field of ensuring regional security and stability. The officials particularly considered the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the process of establishing permanent peace in Afghanistan.

During the conversation, the diplomats also highly appreciated the level of cooperation between the two countries, both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international and regional structures.

Ambassador Potzel noted the significant role of Turkmenistan as one of Afghanistan's closest neighbors, which actively cooperates with regional and international structures to promote peace, stability and socio-economic growth in the country.

The officials agreed to continue an active dialogue on the further development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
