Turkmen freestyle wrestler Alp Arslan Begenjov won bronze at the Asian Championship among cadets

Athlete from Turkmenistan Alp Arslan Begenjov won the bronze medal of the Asian Championship in freestyle wrestling among cadets under 17 at the competitions held in Bishkek.

In the fight for the third place in the weight category up to 71 kg, the Turkmen athlete defeated the wrestler from Mongolia Bilguundalai Purevdagva with a score of 10:0.

On the way to the bronze medal, Alp Arslan beat Adilet Akylbekov (Kyrgyzstan) in qualification - 13:8, defeated Asadbek Fayzullaev (Uzbekistan) - 10:0 in the quarterfinals, and lost to Seyedabolfazl Seyed Ayub Hosseini in the semifinals - 2:12, who became the champion in this weight category, defeating Nurdaulet Seilbekov from Kazakhstan.

The second bronze medal was awarded to a wrestler from India, Narender Narender, who turned out to be stronger than Yoonsu Lee from Korea.

The Asian Wrestling Championship among youth and cadets will end on June 18. For the second year in a row, competitions are held in two age categories - under 17 and under 23 years old.
