Turkmen football players won three bronze medals at the international children's tournament in Germany

The “Altyn Tach” football team from Ashgabat successfully performed at the international children's tournament Laola Cup 2024 in Hamburg, winning three bronze medals in various age categories. Young athletes from Turkmenistan demonstrated a high level of play, competing with teams from more than 46 countries, Jankoyer reports.

The tournament brought together about 200 teams in five age categories. “Altyn Tach” was represented by three teams players born in 2009, 2011 and 2013.

The fight in the under-15 category turned out to be especially intense, where the Turkmen team competed with the hosts of the tournament in the match for third place.

After a 2:2 draw in regulation time, the fate of the bronze medals was decided by a penalty shootout, in which “Altyn Tach” U-15 won with a score of 2:1.

The team's goalkeeper Azim Abayev demonstrated an excellent game, stopping two out of three shots.

In the younger age categories - under 13 and under 11 years old - Turkmen football players also showed decent results, winning bronze medals in a bitter fight against opponents from different countries.

It is worth noting that the performance in Hamburg is not the only international experience for “Altyn Tach” this year. A month earlier, the team took part in the Mallorca International Football Cup 2024 in Spain, where they competed against more than 275 teams from around the world.
