Turkmen fighter may be in a new promotion after PFL and Bellator merger

America's two leading mixed martial arts leagues, the PFL and Bellator MMA, are in talks over a possible merger deal.

Bellator is valued at $500 million, according to Front Office Sports. The deal will be done primarily in cash, with Bellator-owning Paramount taking a stake in the PFL.

Sources familiar with the talks warned that the deal could fall apart. It has also not yet been determined how the PFL and Bellator will work if the deal is completed.

Last year, PFL was estimated at between $500 million and $1 billion. This valuation came before the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund invested $100 million in the PFL through its new sports investment arm, SRJ Sports Investments.

We remind that the first and only Turkmen fighter, Dovletjan Yagshimuradov, is playing for Bellator. He made his debut in this organization in April 2021.

In March 2023, Dovletjan Yagshimuradov defeated Lithuanian Julius Englikas at the Bellator 292 tournament. The fight took place as part of a preliminary card.
