Turkmen Energy Company, Afghanistan’s DABS Mull Herat Substation Electricity Transmission

The Afghan Energy Company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) and officials from the Turkmen State Electricity Corporation Türkmenenergo held a meeting to discuss the technical aspects of the project to transfer electricity to the Nur ul-Jihad substation in Herat, the DABS said in its Tuesday press release.

The meeting considered issues related to the preparation of documentation, security, insurance and other technical aspects.

According to the DABS statement, at the end of the technical session, the parties will present their proposals and ideas.

DABS emphasized that the project to transfer electricity from Turkmenistan to the Herat Nur ul-Jihad substation is seen as an important and vital project that can address issues with electricity supply in the northwestern area and the company supports the immediate start of this project.

In July of this year, DABS officials announced that work is currently underway to start work on the 1000 MW Central Asia - South Asia energy project (CASA-1000) and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) energy interconnection project.
