Turkmen Confectionery Producer Aims to Export Rahat Lokum

Turkmen entrepreneur Nurmyrat Nagmatov’s enterprise plans to establish export of its rahat lokums (Turkish delights) under the Nagmat trademark.

According to Rysgal newspaper’s Monday issue, the enterprise in Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat produces about 200 tons of rahat lokum annually. The enterprise's confections can be found in retail outlets in all regions of the country.

The addition of sugar, nuts and fruit juices is reported to add more sweetness to lokum, produced in a wide variety of tastes and fillings.

For a long time rahat lokum has been the popular sweet in Arab and Turkic-speaking countries. This oriental confection is presently produced in more than 50 countries around the world.
