Turkmen chess players will take part in the first world championship among school teams, which will be held from 3 to 8 August in the Kazakh city of Aktau.
The holders of tickets to the upcoming world championship were determined during the first team championship of Turkmenistan, which was held in the capital's Specialized Chess and Checkers School with the participation of more than 100 school-athletes from all regions of the country.
The tournament, organized by the Chess Federation of the country and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports, was held in 7 rounds in two age categories - under 12 and under 18 years old.
Each team consisted of 4 athletes. 16 teams participated in the under 12 category, and 13 teams participated in the under 18 category.
According to the regulations of the championship, only the winners received tickets to the world championship.
In the category up to 12 years, this right was achieved by the team of the 41st secondary school of Turkmenabat, which was represented by: Didar Baltayev, Yhlas Narimanov, Aman Jumaev and Lachyn Achyldiyeva. The second and third places were taken respectively by representatives of the 26th and 2nd secondary schools of Turkmenabat.
In the category under 18, the chess players of the 41st secondary school of Turkmenabat were also unmatched. The champions in the winning team were: Sanjar Gaybullaev, Gurbanmyrat Rustemov, Begench Artykov and Gulmira Seilkhanova.
Representatives of the 27th secondary school of Turkmenabat, Lebap velayat took second place. And the students of secondary school No. 28 of the Baherden etrap of the Ahal velayat closed the prize three.
