The Turkmen Airlines (“Turkmenhovayollary”) Agency signed a contract in spring 2020 with the Public Joint-Stock Company Kazan Helicopter Plant of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation for the purchase of helicopters ANSAT and Mi-17-1B designed to provide emergency medical care.
The terms of the contract also include personnel training, due to which Turkmen Airlines sent 30 aviation specialists to Kazan. Among them there are 8 flight personnel and 16 engineers.
In addition, 5 laboratory specialists for work with control and testing equipment were sent to the capital city of Tatarstan. In Kazan, they will undergo specialized training in flight operation and maintenance of helicopters of these models at the certified center of the Kazan Helicopter Plant PJSC.
On October 28, Turkmen aviators arrived in the capital city of Tatarstan, where a tour to the Kazan Helicopter Plant PJSC was organized for them, during which a full cycle of helicopter technology was shown from designing to serial production.
They were also shown the production process of helicopters in a universal version for Turkmenistan. To date, the helicopter fuselages have already been completed, and engines, gearboxes and transmission elements have been prepared for installation. The helicopters have been prepared for painting in the colors of the Turkmen Airlines Agency for medical purposes.
On November 2, Turkmen aviation specialists began their industrial training. The retraining programs for pilots include 172 hours of theoretical, training and flight courses, and 270 hours of training for engineering and technical personnel with a specializations in “Helicopter and engine”, as well as “Aviation and radio electronic equipment”.
Turkmen Airlines regularly modernize its flight fleet. The new machines ordered in Kazan are light multipurpose helicopters that can be operated, inter alia, within the city limits to provide emergency medical care at outside temperatures from -45°C to +50°C and in any condition of the runway.
The medical helicopter is equipped with a modern medical module providing transportation of one injured in need of intensive therapy and resuscitation aid.The helicopter has 2 energy absorbing chairs for medical personnel.
The seats and the medical module are installed on the rails provided on the floor panel of the helicopter passenger cabin.The medical equipment of the module is certified by Roszdravnadzor.
The delivery of medical helicopters from Kazan to Turkmenistan is scheduled for March 2021.
