Turkmen Audiences Appreciate US Movie

The Ashgabat Cinema has hosted screenings of US movie hits organized by the Embassy of the United States of America in Turkmenistan. The cultural event, whose program included three films suitable for all ages, offered Ashgabat residents the opportunity to spend the weekend going to the cinema with their families.

Children immensely enjoyed watching “Tangled”, a full-length animated film directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard. It is based on the fairy tale entitled “Rapunzel” by the Brothers Grimm.

Rapunzel is a beautiful girl with magically long hair. The Prince falls in love with her and makes a proposal of marriage. But the Wicked Witch, who finds this out, decides to separate them.

Like most fairy tales, the film has a happy ending.Youngsters were really delighted with the singing and dancing characters in “Tangled”.While the above-said animated cartoon was particularly appealing to the youngest members of the audience, “Aladdin” directed by Guy Ritchie managed to capture the hearts of their parents.

Heavily laden with special effects, the witty Oriental tale with obvious Disney’s message and emphases had the viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

The film tells the story of brave and smart Aladdin, who goes to the cave full of jewels and treasures, rides the magic carpet with Princess Jasmine, and defeats villainous Jafar with the help of his wonderful friends Abu (a little monkey) and the funny, endearing Genie (played by Will Smith) from the magic lamp. “La La Land,” Damien Chazelle’s musical, which had won six Oscars at the 89th Academy Awards and 7 Golden Globes at the 74th Golden Globe Awards, captivated young viewers.

The characters’ strong determination helps them to make their dreams come true, however the two young people, who are in love, do not end up together. They find happiness, going their separate ways...

To help bring the magic of cinema to more children and adults, leaving them with a whole array of positive emotions, the US movie hits will also be shown in other cities across the country: Turkmenabat, Mary, Dashoguz, Balkanabat, and Turkmenbashi.
