The results of the Belt Wrestling World Cup, which was held in Kazan (Tatarstan, RF) from November 3 to 6, 2022 have been summed up. Athletes from Turkmenistan won 12 medals two gold, two silver and eight bronze, reports the electronic newspaper “Golden Age”.
Representatives of 33 countries participated in the competition, which were held at the “Ak Bars” Martial Arts Palace.
As the result of the tournament the Russian team took first place in the team standings. The team of Uzbekistan took second, and Turkmenistan - third.
A student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Hojamyrat Suhanov (weight category up to 57 kg) and a representative of the Belt Wrestling Federation of Turkmenistan Derya Abdyev (up to 90 kg) won the highest awards in our team.
A student of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Abdyresul Durdyev (up to 62 kg) and a student of the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan Palvan Gurbangeldyev (up to 100 kg) won silver medals.
Bronze medalists of the World Cup were: in the men’s team Meylis Gulgeldyev (up to 68 kg), Ibragim Sopyev (up to 75 kg), Rozymyrat Medov (up to 82 kg), Nurmuhammet Baydogdyev (over 100 kg), in the women’s Aymengli Kerimova (up to 52 kg), Gulnara Jorayeva (up to 66 kg) and Jemal Ovlyakulyeva (up to 76 kg).
Bayramoraz Guvanjov (up to 62 kg), studying at the Elabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University won another medal for the Turkmenistan national team.
