An athlete from Turkmenistan Reshit Ovezov won first place in the Thai boxing tournament of the professional fighting league TATFIGHT in Kazan, reported on the website kazan.tmconsulate.gov.tm.
The competitions were held at the “Ak Bars” Martial Arts Palace. In the final bout, Ovezov defeated Russian Denis Laptev in the 71 kg weight category. Reshit Ovezov is 20 years old, at present time, he is a 3rd year student at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University.
The athlete began his career in Turkmenistan, he has been kickboxing since the age of 11 and has a candidate master of sports degree. His record of accomplishment includes awards from various international and domestic competitions.
In particular, Reshit Ovezov is a five-time champion of Turkmenistan in kickboxing, winner of the championship of Samarkand (Uzbekistan) in 2017, champion of the “TATFIGHT” tournament in 2021, and also the winner of the Cup of the Republic of Mari El (RF) in mixed martial arts (MMA) and the “TATFIGHT” Thai tournament in 2020.
