Turkmen culture was presented during a gala concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY, which was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The concert brought together about 70 artists from 7 countries on one stage. Over 1,5 thousand people attended the event.
The concert was organized by the permanent missions of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan to UNESCO with the assistance of TURKSOY.
The festive event featured Turkic melodies and folk songs from Central Asia to Anatolia, performed by artists from different countries of the region, dressed in colorful national costumes. The audience also saw dances from the Turkic world.
Turkmen artists performed the folk dance “Kushtdepdi”, which has ancient roots and perfectly illustrates the continuity of traditions in the modern art of Turkmenistan.
Let us remind that “Kushtdepdi” was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in December 2017, during the 12th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
