In Istanbul, they are preparing to film a remake of the Russian comedy “Peasant”. The main role of a spoiled heir who is rehabilitated with the help of a clever scam will be played by the star of the Turkish series “Knock on My Door” Kerem Bursin. This is reported by kanobu.ru.
The plot will remain unchanged, but the action will move to modern Istanbul and the Ottoman city of the XVI century. Viewers will be treated to a kaleidoscope of eras, where the luxury of the metropolis coexists with the flavor of the Ottoman Empire.
Iconic locations familiar from the series “The Magnificent Century” and “Resurrection Ertugrul” will be responsible for the atmosphere. The project will be directed by Onur Unlu, one of the most sought-after masters of Turkish cinema.
The film will be produced by the Turkish film company Kunay Film and the Russian studio Yellow, Black and White, which had a hand in the original films “Peasant” and “Peasant 2”.
Let us remind that “Peasant” in 2019 became the box office leader, collecting 3,082 billion rubles. “Peasant 2,” released in January 2024, also broke records, taking second place in box office receipts in the history of Russian cinema (more than 3,5 billion rubles).
The premiere of the third part of “Peasant” is scheduled for January 23, 2025.
