A crown-shaped ring adorned with diamonds and rubies, formerly owned by famed American rapper Tupac Shakur, was sold at auction for 1,016 million USD, writes Mail.ru.
The starting price of the ring at Sotheby's in London was announced at 300 thousand USD.The ring was put up for sale within the framework of the third Sotheby's “hip-hop auction”, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the birth of rap as a musical genre.
The ring was designed by Shakur himself, inspired by the works of Renaissance philosopher and political scientist Niccolò Machiavelli.
Tupac Shakur is recognized throughout the world as one of the most influential and well-known figures among hip-hop artists, and his albums top the tops of the best-selling.
