TULM Helps in Delivery of 750-Ton Turkish Aid to Afghanistan

Major Turkmen transport company Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM) assists the transportation of Turkey’s 750 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

The special train consisting of 47 wagons and carrying 750 tons of aid departed from Turkey’s capital Ankara on Thursday.

The TULM told Business Turkmenistan that the wagons will arrive at Turkmenistan’s Etrek station through the Iran-Turkmenistan railway track in early February. At the station, the company will transfer the aid shipment into Turkmen wagons for their further transportation to the Turgundi station in Afghanistan via Turkmen railways.

The train will travel nearly 4,200 km and it's journey is expected to last 16 days.

The Turkey-based Anadolu Agency said the cargo consisting of food, clothing, blankets, and healthcare materials were collected by 11 aid organizations under the coordination of Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency.

In October last year, the TULM transported UN World Food Program’s 3,500-ton flour shipment via Turkmen railway to Afghanistan. The cargo was also sent from Turkey.
