Türkmenhowaýollary Agency Will Purchase Six New Aircrafts

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on Saturday authorizing the Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmenistan Airlines) agency of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers to sign a contract with Boeing (USA) for the purchase of four aircrafts of Boeing 737-8 model.

President Berdimuhamedov also signed a Decree authorizing the Türkmenhowaýollary agency to sign a trilateral contract with the TMHCC-AIR 1 LLC and TMHCC-AIR 2 LLC (USA) for the purchase of two Boeing 777-367ER aircrafts.

According to the official Turkmen media, the documents were adopted for the successful implementation of the objectives envisaged in the National Program of Civil Aviation Development of Turkmenistan for the 2012-2030 years, as well as for the gradual modernization of the aircraft fleet and flight safety.

Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetan Chakyev at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan that was held on Saturday reported on the results of activities of subordinate agencies for January-May 2023.

In the reporting period, the growth rate of services rendered by the Türkmendemirýollary (Turkmen Railways) agency was 105.4 percent, Türkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Road Transport) agency - 121.3 percent, and Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmenistan Airlines) agency - 308 percent.

Deputy Prime Minister said that two Airbus A330-200P2F cargo planes were purchased and put into operation during the reporting period, and new cargo routes Ashgabat-Seul-Ashgabat and Ashgabat-Hanoi-Ashgabat were opened.

The regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan summed up the results of work of the national economy sectors for the five months of 2023.
