Train from Kazakh-Chinese border to Türkiye passes through Turkmenistan

A train loaded with 82 twenty-foot containers of tomato paste left Kazakhstan for Türkiye along the route Alma-Ata-Turkmenbashi-Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.

The train crossed the border of Turkmenistan at the Serhetyaka railway station and arrived at the “Turkmenbashi” International Seaport for further transfer, reports the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan OJSC.

In Turkmenbashi, the containers were loaded onto a ferry and sent to the capital of Azerbaijan. At present time, the cargo is going to Izmir (Türkiye).

Let us note that this multimodal route, organized by TULM together with the subsidiary company “Kazakhstan Railways” KTZ Express, passed through the territory of Turkmenistan for the first time.

The corridor will speed up the delivery of goods and simplify international trade procedures in the Caspian region. The actions of the “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” are aimed at the development of transcontinental routes and corridors passing through the territory of Turkmenistan.
