The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan at the end of 2021 amounted to about 880 million US dollars, which is 60% more than the figure for the same period last year.
This was announced today at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov in Tashkent.
Over the past 4 years, significant progress has been made in the development of bilateral trade of the countries - the indicators have increased by 5 times, it was noted at the talks.
During the conversation, the current state of bilateral cooperation in the investment, industrial, trade, economic, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as in the areas of water use, interregional cooperation and food security was discussed. In addition, new ways of economic cooperation were considered.
Recall that Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tashkent on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan “to discuss key areas of trade, economic, political and diplomatic relations”.
